Hastings and St.Leonards
A little further afield, you will find the seaside town of Hastings & St.Leonards (30mins by transport).
St.Leonards is fast becoming a hub of little independent cafes and bars along a quiet stretch of beach - towards Hastings (which is a nice walk along the promenade), you will find the typical British seaside delights such as mini golf, arcades and fairground rides.
Beyond the attractions, you will admire the Victorian architecture typical of the historic seaside location - however, the architecture of this particular seaside town certainly boasts as some of the most wonderful in the southeast. The hilly townscape provides an eye pleasing array of detail that sits under the ruins of Hastings Castle.
As you walk towards the end of the promenade, you will find the old town marked with it's pedestrianised street of independent and quirky retailers, bars and restaurants - go in the evening for another level in culinary and atmospheric experience.
